The Things Needed For Fishing

Eliminating Alcohol Dependency With Detoxification

Posted by on April 5, 2012

An alcohol detox rehab can help an individual suffering from an addiction cleanse their body of the harmful toxins. These centers normally focus on the physical withdrawal from harmful substances by helping the individual suffering stay in a safe place while experiencing detox. Alcohol Detox is the first step in the road to recovery from an addiction and is a requirement for most rehab programs before admission.

Things To Consider

There are many factors regarding alcohol medical detox that should be known before entry into such a program. These facts will help decide which program is best and how to proceed after detox. An alcoholic involved in the recovery process with a positive attitude is the best weapon against relapse.

Addiction

Alcohol is a sedative that decreases the respiration rate and depresses the central nervous system. This can cause coma or death. It is an addictive substance and the body can become dependent on it. Withdrawal symptoms from alcohol can starts within 24 to 48 hours after the level of alcohol in the blood drops. These symptoms can last up to a week. Symptoms include increased blood pressure, as was an increased heart rate and body temperature. Delirium, nausea, vomiting, seizures and in the rare case, death, are also associated with the withdrawal from alcohol. Alcohol affects every organ in the body, for this reason there are often co-occurring medical disorders and chronic illnesses associated with alcoholism.

Detox vs. Rehab

Although there are many rehabilitation programs that offer detox, they should not be confused as the same process. Detox is the process by which a body is cleansed of harmful toxins. This must occur first before any rehabilitation can happen. Often times rehab centers will offer detoxification services in addition to rehabilitation services.

Treatment

Going through detox is certainly the most painful portion of recovery an alcoholic will face. It is during this brutal time period when a person addicted to alcohol will go through what is known in the medical community as withdrawal. The most important thing for a recovering alcoholic to remember is that they must stick with a detox before they will be able to get treatment in a rehab center.

Dangers

It is imperative to have access to quality medical supervision if you are undergoing a detox process. It can be an incredibly dangerous thing to attempt on your own. With the help of medical professionals you will be able to successfully get through a detox program with as little pain as possible. You will be able to get medications that control the amount of pain you experience during detox.

Goals

While detoxification is the immediate goal of a person who is addicted to alcohol, the long term goal should be to get into a reputable counseling program. In fact, may detoxification centers actually offer counseling sessions that are available 24 hours a day. After the detox process is finally over, patients will be able to commit more of their time to counseling and other rehab activities. Also, after you finish a detox your body will begin to feel much more normal.

Receiving Help To Defeat A Dependancy To Narcotics

Posted by on April 2, 2012

There are many psychological and physical effects a person confronts when the begin rehabilitation for a drug addiction. Typically, the most successful way to get a person off meth completely begins with a detox. This takes place, under the supervision of medical professionals, in a hospital or rehabilitation facility. The detoxification process will purge the addict’s body of all heroin. Next, a recovering heroin addict will check into rehabilitation center where they can begin their heroin detox.

Heroin

When a person starts using heroin, it is not just their health they are putting in jeopardy. They are risking their freedom as well. In most countries, the possession or sale of heroin is classified as a felony and is punishable by jail. You are literally taking your life and putting it on the line if you decide to use heroin.

Risk Factors

There are a number of negative consequences that a person can expect to experience if they develop an drug addiction to heroin. First, they will have incredibly impaired judgment which may lead to them doing harmful things to themselves or others. Also, you can do serious damage to your health if you use heroin for a long period of time. If you have an addiction to heroin, you should seek medical help immediately.

Addiction

Unfortunately, heroin is easily and quickly manufactured in many areas of the country. Heroin can be snorted, smoked or injected. All of these ingestion methods can foster rapid addiction. Heroin addiction does not discriminate between sex, financial status, or race. Any individual who uses heroin recreationally can become addicted before they realize what has happened. Heroin abuse has, almost overnight, become a very dangerous public health issue in the United States of America and the rest of the world.

Consequences

It is important that the population be properly educated about the dangers involved with heroin addiction. If all people continue to see and learn about heroin comes from television and movies, we can expect to see a larger number of heroin addicts in the future. Heroin addiction can rapidly take over and consume a person’s life. This is yet another reason why it is so incredibly important to seek out medical attention if you or someone you know has an addiction to heroin.

Lake Fork Guide Andrew Grills 3-11-12 Report

Posted by on March 27, 2012

Went out this afternoon just to check on the fish. I didn’t know what to expect after the rain and crazy weather. The water looks good, maybe a few inches higher. The mud hasn’t washed in yet but as of now it looks fine and the fish were biting pretty good. Note whats coming out of the second fish. Its gonna be a fun week!

I caught them on a Santone jig today, but keep in mind you need to be prepared for a long day with few bites fishing a jig this time of year. I like it because its one of the best way to catch bigger fish. That isn’t for everybody, I know. Lots of other patterns working as well. Also, you can find my jig rod from Reel Time Rods at Lake Fork Marina soon!

Visit The Great Wall Of China

Posted by on March 25, 2012

If you are thinking about taking a trip overseas, you will have to possess a valid United States passport to be allowed to enter into another country. One of the most popular tourist destinations in the world is China. If you visit China, you will want to check out the Great Wall of China. This wall is so massive that it can be seen from outer space. If you do not yet have a passport, you must begin the passport process by getting a American passport application from the internet or you can download the necessary forms for a passport renewal.

Passports

Passports allow for international travel, without these pertinent documents foreign travel is impossible. These travel documents allow for an individual to cross into a foreign country as well as re-enter their country of origin. The expedited passport renewal process although considered tedious, is much easier than it used to be. Now with technology and the internet as long as proper documentation is gathered a passport is quite easily obtained.

History Of The Wall

If you are in China you should definitely consider checking out the Great Wall of China. It was built to protect the land of China from invaders. It was constructed along the east to west border of the country. It was built in pieces by the individual provinces of China, and later connected to form one giant wall. The materials used to build the wall were mainly comprised of stone, brick, wood and many other elements. The construction of the Great Wall of China began in the 7th century. As the years went on, the many emperors of China slowly added to the wall.

Purpose

The main purpose of the Great Wall of China was to act as a form of border control that allowed for individual check points. Today, it still serves this function, but also acts as a wonderful tourist destination that people come from all over the world to see. In addition, over the years China has added more protection to the Great Wall of China. This was done by adding watch towers, barracks for soldiers and a communication system that allows individuals stationed along the wall to communicate with each other.

Dimensions

The most current and precise archaeological survey of the wall indicated that it measures 5,500.3 miles long. This mileage is comprised of 3,889.5 miles of actual wall, 1,387.2 miles of natural barriers such as rivers and hills, and 233.4 miles of trenches. The Wall stretches from Shanhaiguan in the East, to Lop Lake in the west; it follows an arc that is the approximate delineation of the southern edge of Inner Mongolia.

History

Although a widely popular notion and extremely historical, The Great Wall of China cannot in fact, be seen from the moon or space. The resolution required to be able to see the wall and distinguish it from its surrounding is so expansive that it is virtually impossible and no astronaut has claimed to be able to see it. Writers as far back as the 1700’s claimed that the Great Wall should be visible to the moon; however they lacked the scientific understanding and prowess to grasp the actual notion.

The Numerous Benefits Of A US Passport Card

Posted by on

Many United States citizens travel frequently to Mexico or Canada. They may be traveling for business or to see family on a regular basis. In modern times, with the invention of the internet and portable tablets, it may be possible in the future to show customs agents a copy of your passport on a hand held, electronic device. However, currently, the laws have not yet caught up with the technology. If you are going to be doing any travel to Canada or Mexico, on a regular basis, you can obtain a U S passport card that will grant you access to these countries. Individuals will still have to get a passport replacement if their passport is lost to travel overseas, however.

Passport Cards

Anyone who is interested in traveling overseas will have to show proof of a valid United States passport. However, if you are an individual who frequently travels to Mexico, Canada or the Caribbean, all you need to show customs officials is a passport card. Passport cards are fantastic because they allow United States citizens to visit countries that are very close to the United States. Also, they are much cheaper and easier to obtain than a regular United States passport replacement.

Online Agencies

Passport cards, thanks to online passport agencies, are very easy to obtain. In fact, even if you have never before applied for a United States passport, you can still apply for a passport card very easily. They are very convenient and much less expensive than a regular United States passport is. If you are in a rush, and need to make a quick trip to Canada or Mexico in a hurry, you can apply for an expedited passport card online and have it in the mail in as little as a couple days.

Applications

It is a relatively simple process, compared to getting a regular passport, to get a passport card. First, you will have to show authorities some proof of citizenship. There are numerous things you can shoe to prove this including birth certificates or social security cards. Also, you will be required to fill out a few application forms before you get your passport card. Once you have taken all of these steps and sent in your forms and proof of citizenship, you will receive you brand new passport card in the mail. It should only take a couple of days for the process to be completed.

Travel Documents

Passport cards are incredibly convenient and a great alternative for travelers who are only going to Mexico or Canada on a regular basis. Another great benefit of having a passport card is that they are much smaller and easier to carry than a regular passport. It is very important, no matter what kind of passport you have, that you keep It in a safe location whether you are at home or are traveling.

Lake Fork Bass Fishing Report March 2, 2012 Lake Fork Trophy Bass Guide James Caldemeyer

Posted by on March 22, 2012

March Madness is here everyone! What an exciting time of year to be at Lake Fork. Spring has arrived and Lake Fork is primed up for another great spawning season. Many anglers have waited all winter for this month to come and the great fishing that goes along with it. If you are after a big bass, now is the time. For those looking for a place to have some fun this month, come on out to Lake Fork with your friends or family to enjoy some time away this spring break! Here are some tips and techniques that will hopefully help you land the fish of your dreams!

The lake is currently 5.5 feet low. Despite recent rains bringing the lake up about 2 feet, we could definitely use some more rain. Water temperatures have been in the high 50’s to low 60’s lately due to a relatively mild winter. I expect with the full moon upon us that a number of fish will begin spawning soon. The water clarity is very stained in the northern creek arms but clears as you get to the south end.

I am targeting both prespawn as well as spawning fish right now. One of my best baits lately has been a square billed crank bait. I am using the new Talon Shibui 1.5 in chartreuse splatter back or dirty ghost colors www.talonlures.com. This is an awesome bait for working through the shallows. I like to target flats, points, shallow drains, or ditches in spawning creeks from 2-6 feet deep. The key to catching fish on this bait is allowing it to come into contact with timber. Bouncing it into any trees on the retrieve will draw more strikes. On real windy spring days I am also breaking out the Talon Shibui spinner bait. A chartreuse/white double willow in 3/8 or 1/2 oz sizes as done well in the same areas. If the fish are hesitant to bite these I know I can always do well on a chatter bait in the same size and color. It has a lot more vibration and will agitate a strike out of even the most stubborn fish. When I am able to find the right water and especially on windy days I opt for a swim bait to target the big females. A Berkley Hollow Belly is hard to beat! I like the 5” and 6” models best this time of year and my favorite colors are pearl, gizzard shad, and ayu. Slow roll this bait on the shallowest windy banks you can find this spring and you will be surprised at the fish you catch!

When the fish are not active on moving baits in the spring it’s time to sloooowwww way down. And when I say “slow” I mean fish very slow. As the fish move out of prespawn and into their spawning activity they will become more territorial than anything. Putting a bait in their nests or close to where they are and leaving it lay there will entice them to pick it up and move it out of the bedding area. On the contrary if you move it around a lot they will just watch it go by. So fishing slow is very important. Look for the fish to be spawning in 2-8 feet of water on standing timber, lay downs, docks and any re-emerging grass. Some of my favorite baits to flip and pitch are the new Berkley Havoc and Powerbait. A Texas rigged Berkley Havoc Craw Fatty or Pit Boss is very effective right now. Best colors are black/blue, green pumpkin, Okeechobee craw, and Big Texan www.berkley-fishing.com I will rig mine with a 4/0 wide gap hook and 5/16 oz Elite Tungsten weight on 17 lb Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon line. My most favorite new set up to throw this on is the Abu Garcia Revo MGX paired with a 7’1”-7’3” Abu Garcia Villian rod. If you had a chance to come by and see me at the Bassmasters Classic you know how excited I am about this awesome new combo and its overall weight of 10 ounces. Another new product that I am excited about is the new Powerbait “Thief”. This is another awesome new flipping bait from Berkley that will catch a lot of fish presented in the same way as the previous mentioned Havoc. If the fish are finicky and will not bite the bigger soft plastics I will often downsize to a 3/16-1/4 oz shaky head or drop shot rig. A great bait for these is the 4” or 6” Havoc Bottom Hopper. For anyone that is coming out to fish the tournaments, this is a very effective worm for catching under the slot fish. Also, If you are sight fishing for bass and find one that will not bite try one of these and you may be surprised how aggressively the bite it.
